Pretty Privilege in Victorious 

In the Nickelodeon TV series "Victorious" that I watched in my childhood, I remember this scene from the show that is an example of pretty privilege. Right before this video clip, two girls make a bet with two bullies that anyone in the whole restaurant can beat them in karaoke since they have been acting so cocky. The bullies can pick anyone to compete against, so they pick a dorky-looking girl in the corner. Little do they know, this was a setup and the main character, Tori, actually put on a disguise so that they would pick her. Since she is a pretty girl, she put on an "ugly" disguise because she knew that the bullies would base someone's talent off of their appearance. There was an implicit bias in the bullies' heads that an unattractive person would not be talented and a prettier person would be. That is pretty privilege. They were taught their lesson and they ended up losing the bet.
